Two lakes, one home

Something many guests only notice once they're there: Ullevi isn't attached to one lake but two separate ones, each with its own role. Lake Nässjön lies less than two hundred metres from the house and is Totebo's official swimming spot — this is where you swim, grill and while away time on the lawn. Lake Hällsjön, a few minutes' drive south, is the quieter of the two: this is where the boat is moored, and where the fishing happens.

A typical holiday day at Lake Nässjön

The morning often starts with coffee on the terrace, then a short walk to the jetty. Since the lake is an official swimming spot, water quality is regularly tested — reassuring for families with children. Lunch is cooked at the barbecue spot in the garden, and the afternoon takes you back to the water or the lawn.

Out on Lake Hällsjön by boat

For anyone who'd rather be on the water than beside it, a trip with "Jenny" out onto Lake Hällsjön is worthwhile — quieter, stiller, with far fewer people than the swimming lake. A good complement for a day where simply spending time on the water is the whole plan, with no fixed schedule needed.

Why a lakeside holiday in Småland is worth it

Småland is considered one of Sweden's most lake-rich regions — small, clear lakes are often only a few kilometres apart, surrounded by forest rather than buildings. The difference from busy coastal resorts is noticeable: more quiet, less bustle, and genuine closeness to nature right outside the door.

  • Nässjön: 200 m from the house, official swimming spot, barbecue area and lawn
  • Hällsjön: a few minutes' drive away, boat "Jenny" included, quieter
  • Ideal for: families, couples and anyone looking for a holiday without a fixed schedule
